Site last updated : 10 June 2010 Floating Storage Systems A Floating Storage Offloading (FSO) unit is a converted or new build barge or tanker, permanently moored at a location to receive stabilised crude or other products for storage and transfer purposes. FSOs are not equipped with processing facilities, but they are equipped with the facilities necessary for safe and environmentally friendly operations. Bluewater may be requested to supply an FSO together with its Mooring System. In such cases, Bluewater selects to pursue an integrated contract arrangement to assure that the project may be executed in accordance with Bluewater’s business processes. Bongkot FSO It is worth noting that while Bluewater specialises in the design, build and operation of its own FPSOs, the company does not own, operate and lease FSO units. All Floating Storage Systems are delivered for Client ownership, management and operation.
