Process Equipment |

 |
|
All Bluewater FPSOs incorporate process equipment designed and engineered by Bluewater. |
|
 |
|
Proven process modeling programs are utilised, optimising the treatment of different crude types. Hands-on experience of processing light to heavy crude or waxy crude is considered critical for efficient and economic FPSO designs. Versatile and flexible oil processing designs allow for a wide range of applications. Bluewater provides the topsides process facilities for floating production projects.
The conceptual design for the topsides will be developed in-house by Bluewater to assure the optimal overall FPSO concept, the total integration with the hull, the marine systems, and the electrical power and heat generation. The topsides design will include the operational experience and feedback from Bluewater’s Operations group. |

Design selections are also driven by environmental issues. Environmentally friendly solutions for the topsides design can include:
- No flaring design, closed flare systems
- Closed systems for cargo-tank venting using fuel gas for blanketing to avoid the release of hydrocarbons to the atmosphere (VOC)
- Maximise the use of waste heat for process heating purposes
- Advanced treatment or re-injection of produced water
During operations of Bluewater FPSOs, the emissions are
continuously measured and recorded. |

The process facilities shall produce oil and gas in accordance with client’s specifications and shall generally comprise:
- Separation of the incoming fluids into stabilised crude, produced water and extraction of the gas
- Treatment of the produced water
- Treatment and compression of the gas to export quality or re-injection
- Treatment of seawater for injection into the reservoir with high pressure water-injection pumps
- Chemical injection for processing improvement, corrosion protection or to avoid obstruction of produced fluid flow
- Sulphur and CO2 removal plants can be added if required
In addition to the standard offshore oil and gas process plants, alternate types of process facilities can be provided. |
