Bluewater is a leading provider of innovative Single Point Mooring systems (SPM) and operator of Floating Production Storage and Offloading units (FPSO). Since its foundation in 1978, Bluewater has built a technological lead specialising in design, development, lease and operation of tanker-based production and storage systems, and has become a leading provider of innovative Single Point Mooring systems.

Bluewater currently owns and operates a number of Floating Production Storage and Offloading Systems (FPSOs): the Glas Dowr, the Aoka Mizu, the Bleo Holm, the Hæwene Brim and Munin.


The Engineering Department employs over 90 highly skilled and talented designers and engineers and is responsible for providing innovative, cost effective engineering services and solutions. To strengthen The Engineering Department, Bluewater is now looking for a Project Engineer.


As a Project Engineer you are end responsible for the execution of agreed design and engineering and accountable for delivering quality output meeting defined project requirements. As part of your responsibility, you integrate and manage the engineering team, by assisting in establishing discipline scopes, staffing plans, schedule and engineering tools. You maintain a good team spirit and commitment to meet the safety, quality and schedule requirements. In addition, you are actively involved in change management and you take a key role in the engineering team towards clients, certifying authorities and (engineering) subcontractors, as well as towards your colleagues in procurement, contracts, construction, commissioning and operations.


We are looking for a seasoned engineer with organization talent, affinity for multi-disciplinary projects, a pro-active attitude and having excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills.

– You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering.
– You have over 8 years of professional experience in engineering, preferably of marine systems or upstream process systems (topsides) for the offshore and/or ship building industry.
– You are a team player with well-developed supervisory, management and conflict negotiations skills.
– You have thorough knowledge of planning and control of interdisciplinary activities, discipline responsibilities, quality aspects for control methods and procedures;
– You are familiar with procurement, contract, fabrication, construction and commissioning practices.
– You are willing to perform activities abroad (onshore, offshore, construction sites).
– You have excellent communication skills and good understanding of the English language, verbally as well as in writing.
