OrganizationThe Engineering department is responsible for providing innovative, cost-effective Engineering services and solutions in all areas of Bluewater’s business, ensuring a responsible approach to Client requirements, International Rules and Obligations and HSEQ obligations.
The Structural Engineering Section is part of the Engineering Department and is responsible for the design and engineering of the (steel) structures of Single Point Mooring systems and FPSO topsides. These structures are designed using 3D design tools. With finite element and analytical analysis, supported by in-house developed pre- and post-processing tools, the structures are designed for ex-treme conditions and fatigue life.
FunctionAs Structural Designer you are responsible for delivering the design of the structural work scope of any type of job in line with the project’s technical specification, budget and planning. You implement the HSEQ&RC requirements and assists the Lead (Project) Engineer in related meetings.
Also you keep knowledge and procedures up-to-date on all relevant aspects and shares this within the section. A correct administration of your work is obvious for you and you use and maintain corporate standards. To improve quality, you check work of colleagues and develop and propose improvements.
You report to the Lead (Project) Engineer on progress, set backs and concerns when assigned to a project and report to the Section Head Engineering on personal achievements and section matters.
RequirementsWe are looking for a creative problem solver with strong planning & organisational skills. You have attention to detail and are disciplined. Also, you are willing to perform activities abroad if necessary; on site or with client. Furthermore:
• Technical College (MBO) education in Mechanical or Structural engineering.
• 1-5 years experience as structural designer.
• Computer literacy for document processing and spreadsheets, for 2D and 3D CAD.
• Affinity with technical matters and in-depth analysis of technical problems.
• Experience with Inventor is a pré.
• English good, verbally as well as in writing.
OfferWe offer a challenging, fulltime position within an international environment. A market conform gross yearly salary, including a 13th month, holiday allowance and a non-contributory pension plan and a collective medical insurance.
