Contract Award ACME and Bluewater – Ammonia CBM

Bluewater is pleased to announce to have successfully signed an agreement with ACME for the delivery of a CBM system for the export of Green Ammonia at Duqm, Oman.

This plant will be the world’s first ever Green Ammonia export terminal, producing 108.000 tons of green ammonia annually in the first phase of this development. An expansion at this site is planned to increase its production to 0.9 million tonnes per annum over the coming years in phases. To power this Green Ammonia plant, solar power and Battery storage will be utilised as a sustainable and abundant source of renewable energy in the area.

This project will kick-start a new energy industry for Bluewater with sustainable co-operation throughout the sector. The long-term mindset in a partnership with a client like ACME makes sure that Bluewater will be participating in the coming expansion plans and new developments involving Green Ammonia.

This system is scheduled for delivery in January 2026 and will be utilized in 2027 to export refrigerated green ammonia to dedicated tankers of Yara Birkeland AS. This strategic partnership and project underscore our commitment to sustainability and reinforces Bluewater’s position as a key player in the clean energy sector.
